My Sister, MySpace

9 02 2007

My sister is one of the most interesting people I know. I was on her Myspace and reading some stuff and I thought, well why not put a link to her page.

She has updates on bands like Panic! At the Disco and The Academy Is, The Hot Lies. She’s totally obsessed with music and hopefully will get on the radio soon.

My brother Paul also has a MySpace and his one is all about his Photography.

He takes photo’s of around Melbourne and I recon one day it will be his photo’s on the phone books LOL.

So this post is for my siblings because my life is too dull to have a MySpace so this one’s for them:

Panic At The Disco

2 10 2006

This Saturday I’m going with my brother and sister to see Panic at the Disco. We were lucky enough to get the pre-sale tickets and good thing too, the other ones sold out in 10 minutes I heard.

I’m really exited, it’s gonna be so much fun.

My sister is going to 3 of their concerts the under-age one with me and my brother, she’s going to the over-age one with her friend. She’s also making a trip up to Sydney to see one of their, in a manner of speaking,’underground’ concerts.

Now all I have to do is wait for Death Cab For Cutie and Jimmy Eat World to come to Melbourne.

Death Cab For Cutie Lyrics

21 09 2006

My fav songs by Death Cab.

“Company Calls Epilogue”

Synapse to synapse: the possibility’s thin
I’m dressed up for free drinks and family greetings
On your wedding, your wedding, your wedding date
The figures in plastic on the wedding cake
That I took were so real

And I kept distance: the complications cloud
The postcards and blip through fiberoptics
As the girls with pigtails
Were running from little boys wearing bowties
Their parents bought them: “I’ll catch you this time!”

Crashing through the parlor doors
What was your first reaction?
Screaming, drunk, disorderly: I’ll tell you mine
You were the one
But I can’t spit it out when the date’s been set
The white routine to be ingested inaccurately

Synapse to synapse: the sneaky kids had attached
Beer cans to the bumper so they could drive
Up and down the main drag
People would turn to see who’s making the racket
It’s not the first time

When they lay down the fish will swim upstream
And I’ll contest, but they won’t listen
When the casualty rate’s near 100%
And there isn’t a pension for second best
Or for hardly moving

Crashing through the parlor doors
What was your first reaction?
Screaming, drunk, disorderly: I’ll tell you mine
You were the one
But I can’t spit it out when the date’s been set
The white routine to be ingested inaccurately

You were the one
But I can’t spit it out when the date’s been set
The white routine to be ingested inaccurately

“Soul Meets Body”

I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me,
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel… feel what it’s like to be new.

‘Cause in my head
There’s a Greyhound station
Where I set my thoughts
To far-off destinations
So they may have a chance
Of finding a place where they’re
Far more suited than here.

I cannot guess what we’ll discover
When we turn the dirt
With our palms cupped like shovels,
But I know our filthy hands
Can wash one another’s
And not one speck will remain.

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes,
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too.
So brown eyes, I’ll hold you near,
‘Cause you’re thee only song I want to hear.
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere.

Where soul meets body.
Where soul meets body.
Where soul meets body.

And I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes,
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too.
So brown eyes, I’ll hold you near,
‘Cause you’re thee only song I want to hear.
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere.
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere.
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere.
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere.

“Transatlanticism”

the atlantic was born today and i’ll tell you how:
the clouds above opened up and let it out.

i was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere
when the water filled every hole.
and thousands upon thousands made an ocean,
making islands where no island should go.
oh no.

those people were overjoyed; they took to their boats.
i thought it less like a lake and more like a moat.
the rhythm of my footsteps crossing flood lands
to your door have been silenced forever more.
the distance is quite simply much too far for me to row
it seems farther than ever before
oh no.

i need you so much closer (x8)

i need you so much closer (x4)
so come on, come on (x4)
